ACTING: Over the last fifteen years, Meisha Lowe has appeared in Australian television, theatre, short/independent films and commercials and in the last five years she has stepped into her filmmaking career. Her acting work also expands internationally, by starring in both Canadian and US short/independent films. Meisha completed her Diploma of Screen & Stage Acting in 2009. In 2010 she made her Australian television debut appearing in Underbelly Files: Infiltration. She then moved to Sydney where she worked full-time for Brainstorm Productions, an Australian educational touring theatre company, performing 252 shows during her nine month tour. Following this, she made the move to "Hollywood North" Vancouver, Canada where she appeared in her international debut in Eadweard, a historically based independent feature film. In 2015 she won the Green Card Lottery and moved to Los Angeles, California where she spent five years there, continuing her acting career. 


FILMMAKING: In 2020, Meisha came back to Australia where she is currently finishing her Bachelor of Screen Production at AFTRS (Australian Television Radio School).

Meisha Lowe is a writer/director who also produces. Her first year AFTRS short drama Crossroads screened at Sydney Women’s International Film Festival (SWIFF) in 2025 and was nominated for Best Student Film. Her second year AFTRS short documentary Reel Equality is currently streaming on SBS On Demand and also screened at Sydney Women’s International Film Festival (SWIFF) and Melbourne Women In Film Festival in 2025. The film was also nominated for Best Short Documentary at SWIFF.   Living in Limbo, which she produced, is also currently streaming on SBS On Demand.  She will continue writing, directing and producing once she graduates from AFTRS at the end of 2025. She hopes to gain more experience interning with a production company aligned with her goals - telling authentic stories, uplifting the voices of those who often go unheard. She is passionate about championing for gender equality in the film industry which is what her short doc Reel Equality, on SBS On Demand explores.
